Dar al-Hadith

An Arabic and English library of Hadith.

Coming soon, in sha Allah.

About the project

We are building Dar al-Hadith as a place to read, search and study the Prophetic traditions in both Arabic and English. Our aim is to make the books accessible without losing sight of the editions and sources from which their texts come.

Our main source is the books published by Darussalam. For English, we are digitising their Hadith books. For Arabic, we are working with texts from al-Maktaba al-Shamela (المكتبة الشاملة). We are bringing these texts together while checking the numbering of narrations, chapter divisions and source references. We begin with nine Hadith books.

Transparency and the Athari creed are important to us, and both shape this work. We want readers to know where each text came from. Digitisation is a starting point; careful verification and clear attribution are what make the library useful, and we welcome the community’s help in checking the texts.

Why we are building this

The difficulty is not simply finding Hadith online. It is knowing precisely which edition or translation a text comes from, how its numbering corresponds to the printed book, and whether any changes have been made along the way.

With Dar al-Hadith, we want readers to be able to trace each text to its source. Our aim is to identify editions and translators, preserve references, and document corrections. Rather than asking readers to trust the website alone, we want to give them the information needed to verify the text themselves.

Dar al-Hadith is an independent project. We are not affiliated with Sunnah.com, and we do not rely on it for our texts. It is a separate website.
